3 years agoBlueberry smoothies: 1 part rice milk, 1 part frozen blueberries, 1 banana. Blend until you get frothy goodness. Drink up and wear your blueberry mustache proudly!

Today in the mail, we got a box. But not just any box. It was a box of these amazing Honeycrisp apples, complete with the graphically cool card. I was instructed *chill* them before partaking. I followed orders and later was rewarded with this juicy, sweet, cool, crisp goodness. I just might share this with the beasties. :)

I’ve also been told that pairing these beauties with some colby cheese is quite the winner. Next stop: Colby cheese. Oh, and the grocery store.Big thanks to the woman who took our apple eating experience to a whole ‘nother level!— the crazy talented caroline!
3 years agoThis past weekend we celebrated with family, our youngest daughter turning two! Hooray! It was a fun day filled with owl crafting, owl pinata busting, pumpkin painting and lots and lots of eating. I can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of the food! I love food! Eating it, talking about it, eating it… (sigh). Oh well. Today is her official birthday and we’ll celebrate with some leftover apple tart a-la-mode and another round of Happy Birthday from her vocally challenged family. :)

These were so fun to make. We’re big fans of 101 Cookbooks, and she had an awesome recipe for Caramel Apples sans the corn syrup and other gross stuff that usually goes into making caramel. We’re planning a small family gathering for our youngest daughter who is turning two! She kind of “gets” that she will be having a party—and sings Happy Birthday to herself and chose some special crackers all “on own” as she likes to say— at the grocery store.

We’re going with a “fall”-ish type theme…even though the actual weather is feeling like the height of summer! It seems we will be using our imagination.

If my hands are free, i’ll snap some pics of the party for the big TWO year old.

No.1: Can I bring a toy into school with me this morning? Mom: No, toys should stay at home, but you can play with them when you get back. No.1: (huffs) (hands go on hips) No.1: Okay then, well then I have this for you (whips around into her room) No.1: (Returns with the note shown below) No.1: Here you go! (skips out of my room) Mom: ……….

This past saturday I had the privilege of hanging out with my long time friend and all-knowing-of-many-subjects, including photography Eddie Tabata. He’s a star. I hope to have more photo expeditions with him. We took pictures of his good friends the Gomez family, who are super fun to hang out with and have as you can see two very darling daughters. Here are some of my favorites from the day!
